I hope you find as I do, that participating in a regular yoga session with others can be a great support to your personal practice. It always is a pleasure to unfold my mat, close my eyes, check my breath, and begin yoga. But I do miss practice with all of you old friends and look forward to meeting new friends. We never really know what the next breath will be like, or what the next pose will have to offer. It will be interesting and fun to discover and rediscover this lovely practice. I do hope to see you in the classes.

SPECIAL EVENTS

YOGA IS BEYOND STRETCHING

SATURDAY OCTOBER 13

ST. ANDREWS PARISH HALL- 7 ST. ANDREWS AV. GRIMSBY

9:30 AM TO 3:30 PM (\$50.00 INCLUSIVE HST)

In this workshop, we will desconstruct poses to discover specific points, which will lead us into a deeper experience of the pose. Specifically, we'll see how various areas of the body interact, allowing us to move through our lives more easily. Yoga, in part, is a practice which involves activating limbs, organs, and muscles. Even more than that, it is a practice of the mind, and that is what will take us beyond stretching and strenghtening.

In a larger sense, the purpose of Yoga is to calm the vrittis (fluctuations of the mind). Initially, we will practice poses, modifying them to individual needs. Following that, we'll examine the breath and how it affects our wellbeing in our daily lives. After lunch, we will explore restorative poses. Some experience of yoga is helpful, but the workshop is suitable for all levels of yoga.

For those who have limited practice, this is an opportunity to dig deeper into this wonderful practice. For those who have been practicing for some time, it's a chance to re-examine and deepen their understanding. I'm looking forward to this day , and hoping you'll join me

The fee will be \\\\\\\\\\$150.00(inclusive HST) for 10 classes. There is a discount of 10% for students or if 2 members of the same nuclear family attend classes. Also, there will be a 10% discount for anyone attending more than 1 class a week. First class for all new students is always free. If you cannot register for the beginning of the term I will pro-rate your fee. All members of Wellspring if taking treatments can attend classes for free. If you sign up for a class on a certain day, and you are unable to attend, you can make up that class by coming to any other class in that same 10 week period. For example, if you are attending classes in Grimsby on Tuesdays and you need to miss one or more classes, you may come to any class on a different day.

For those who have come to classes before, please let me know what class you plan on attending, and you can make payment when you come for the first class. Please register early, as I expect registration will be quite heavy, and I don't want to overbook classes. Level 1 or Basic level is for those who are new to the practice or would like a gentler class. Level 2 are for those who have had previous experience. In any case, you can still work in any way you feel comfortable. You can contact me here. I look forword to seeing you in the class.

I feel privileged to continue teaching classes both at Wellspring Niagara as well as Wellspring in Halton for cancer patients and their caregivers.
